From knowing nothing of marching till we know everything about marching...Marching under the sun isn't an easy job....juniors that never took part in this syf will not know how the seniors feel.In a marching band.It is not only about you alone!It is about everyone!It has the same theory as the puzzle.It wouldn't looks perfect when you have one piece missing....I'm once a junior too,I can understand how you feel being a junior.

I'm done with my job as and SL.I have lead you guys through syf'11....I really enjoyed myself in the process of syf'11...Especially having sectionals with you guys...The night practices,early practices and extended practices....It might be tiring and you might feel like giving up...as long as you preserve through the hard time you will success!!Although we failed to clinch the gold award this time round,we have success in the way that we had put up a really spectacular show on 4 April 2011!!!we have tell many people that Chong Boon symphonic band is really something!We not only can play music musically...we also can march and play!!!Getting a silver is actually a good sign...it means that there is room for improvement...Lets imagine that we are a gold band or gold with honors band...People will have high expectation of us...They expect us to go up one level or to forever remain at that level....It will be very embarrassing if you are to drop to silver or bronze....Think thing positively....

I'm about to step down soon...I really hope that my next batch of SL will really take good care of the section.We have really strong sec one trumpeters...All of them are really very into band...All the best to my dearest juniors!!!Jiayou!!!!

everyone lets welcome our new sec ones!!!They are new!!!Please treat them nicely!!!Hehe...less then 40 days to Syf...hmmm are you all ready???bronze?Silver?gold?Or Gold with honours??Yea!!That's our aim!!Gold with honours!!!

Honestly,compared to 2 years ago the band.This band is far better then the one we had 2 years ago.During those days,especially trumpet section. We always kana scolding from Mr chiang during full band.Saying that we are not practicing hard enough,not enough air,not loud enough,articulation not good etc....So many unsolved problems.We really had quite a bad time during those days.However it is different now!!!We have improved so much!We are more like a section now!Cheer!!!Lets continue this kind of attitude ok?

As from what I know,The section is having cold wars here and there...I don't care what happened...Shall we throw this problems/conflicts aside and prepare our self well for SYF?I wouldn't want to see people showing each another attitude or don't communicate with each another!You must remember playing music does not only concerns you...it concerns the whole band!!!Promise me ok?You can throw all your temper or scream at shout at the person only after syf....Lets all be friends...not enemy...We are a section after all:)

Hi,

It has been quite sometime after I've became the section leader of trumpet section.This is my first time talking to you all.First of all,I must to apologise that I have been absent for so long for last year holidays and I must also apologise for not thanking you all for the lovely gift that you all gave me cause I'm not in a good mood that day.I'm also so sorry that I didn't prepare any gifts for you all.I must thanks the current sec 4 batch that they did a pretty good job taking care of the section during this period.Since I'm back,I will carry on the duty as the section leader.There will be quite a few changes in handling the section.My style of handling the section might be different from Joey or the sec 4.There is a number of thing I will need to address you all.

First of all
*please lower down your volume during full band(trumpet section always produce the most noise in band)
*NO day dreaming in band...you know ah who I'm referring..hehe...
*During sectional,please be serious.And whatever Guanheng ask you to do just do it,don't argue with him.
*bell's must be raised higher at all time,don't raised too high too..It won't look good if the bell is being raised too low or too high :)
*please do not use your phone during full band.If I caught you using your phone,I will punish you immediately.It is so rude to use your phone when mr chiang or mr wong is conducting full band.
*The (cat),please throw away all the water in your cat.Lets do it in a rutine way.everyday there will be someone throwing away the water.lets start from the oldest to the youngest...
*Once you set up your instrument,please do your own warm up follow by practicing the syf pieces.
*If your instrument is spoiled,please inform me before you inform the Qm...cause I need to take note of all the trumpet in the shelf.
*If there is any spoiled stand,please inform me too because we always accumulates stands..(trumpet section always has the highest amount of stands when they ask for collection)
*when mr chaing or mr wong ask us to write something in our score,better write in it.I dont want to see plain scores.
*this will be a busy year for the sec 4 and myself,we will only come for band practice after 330pm.So who will take charge of the section?Of cause Cheryl!She will take charge of the section if the sec 4 and myself is not around.So sec2,please listen to her OK?
*there will be one band practice every week that I'll be absent.The sec 4 will take charge of everything...
*During self sectional,if I'm not around...Chanel will take the role of the SL..She will do all the SL stuff.By now,everyone of us should know the pieces quite well right?So all the sectional will be in a section.No more first is first,second is second and third is third..We will do it as a section now.Unless there is instruction given from mr chiang or mr wong.
*During sectional,please play the parts that you hates or don't know.Don't play the parts that you love only.this will defeat the purpose of having sectional.We need to improve the weaker parts.
*from now on please practice as a section...we need to sound good as a section not individually.You know why other bands sound so nice?Cause they play as a section.
*please sign out your instrument as frequently as possible.Practice at home!

We will have a section meeting on tuesday/thursday after band practice.This will be part of the things that I will list out in the meeting.The meeting wont take long,15 mins will do.
